The title’s developers Lionhead Studios will close along with Denmark’s Press Play Studios.
Microsoft Studios confirmed today (March 7) that two of it’s developers will close. Lionhead Studios, based in the UK, and Press Play of Denmark will soon close. The closure of Lionhead also came with the news that Fable Legends will cease production.
In a statement on the Xbox website, Microsoft Studios Europe General Manager Hanno Lemke detailed the decisions: “After much consideration we have decided to cease development on Fable Legends, and are in discussions with employees about the proposed closure of Lionhead Studios in the UK. Additionally, we will close Press Play Studios in Denmark, and sunset development on Project Knoxville.”
The statement also said that Microsoft would be working closely with those affected by the closure to find roles elsewhere. In addition, those currently playing the Fable Legends beta – due to end on April 13 – who have purchased in-game gold will be refunded as compensation for the cancellation.
