Prime Video is thrilled to announce the premiere date for its highly anticipated show Cross, which is based on the best-selling Alex Cross book series by James Patterson. The eight-episode series is set to debut on Thursday 14 November 2024 and will be brought to you by the newly merging Paramount Television Studios and Skydance Television.

Cross stars Aldis Hodge, known for his roles in The Invisible ManOne Night in Miami, and Black Adam. They step into the iconic role of Alex Cross, a character previously portrayed by Morgan Freeman in the films Kiss the Girls and Along Came a Spider, and by Tyler Perry in Alex Cross

Recently, a synopsis has been released for the upcoming series: its set to follow Alex Cross (Hodge), “a detective and forensic psychologist, uniquely capable of digging into the psyches of killers and their victims, to identify—and ultimately capture—the murderers.”

Cross promises a complex, pulse-pounding thriller created by showrunner and executive producer Ben Watkins. It will likely deliver gripping storytelling and intense action, staying true to the essence of Patterson’s beloved novels. And with Prime Video’s rich history of adapting popular novels into thrilling television series, with hits like The Terminal List, Jack Ryan, and Reacher, its no surprise to find the series has already been renewed for a second season ahead of its premiere. Members of the season two cast will include Wes Chatham and Matthew Lillard.

Watkins serves as showrunner and executive producer through his own Blue Monday Productions banner. He previously was an executive producer on Burn Notice and the Amazon TV series Hand of God. James Patterson serves as an executive producer through James Patterson Entertainment. David Ellison (CEO of Skydance Media and proposed future chairman and CEO of Paramount Global), Dana Goldberg, and Bill Bost executive produce for Skydance Television. Amazon MGM Studios, Paramount Television Studios and Skydance Television produce Cross.
