Track Review: Carousel // The Scarletts

Essex quintet The Scarletts create murky Humbug era Arctic Monkeys style rock on ‘Carousel’. The snappy drums propel the song into motion whilst minimalistic guitar parts adorn the track. The chorus is definitive and catchy. Just when the listener relaxes into the song, around the two minuet mark, a suspenseful pause occurs and the vocals lead us swiftly into a tempo change bridge section.

As we glide further through this section, the guitars thicken and become gradually more abrasive and intense which make for a really interesting listen. The Scarletts execute this particular brand of 60’s inspired rock extremely well whilst managing to add their own spin.
