“Times change. Teenagers Don’t”. Netflix has confirmed that That ‘90s Show is returning for season two this summer in a teaser trailer.

The first eight episodes of the new season will be released on June 27, followed by eight more episodes on October 24.

The That ‘70s Show spin-off is set 15 years after the original teenage sitcom sees the iconic Wisconsin basement setting occupied by a new generation of friends. Focused on Leia Foreman (Callie Haverda), daughter of That ‘70s Show’s Eric (Topher Grace) and Donna (Laura Prepon), That ‘90s Show weaves the nostalgic with the new. The fashion and music may have changed but there’s still the same laugh track, catchphrases, and even some of the same characters as the original series.

In the teaser trailer, we see a confirmed return of Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith as Leia’s grandparents Kitty and Red alongside appearances from familiar That ‘70s Show faces Laura Prepon, Don Stark, Tommy Chong and Seth Green.

Gwen (Ashley Aufderheide), Jay (Mace Coronel), Ozzie (Reyn Doi), Nate (Maxwell Acee Donovan), and Nikki (Sam Morelos) are also all back for the second season.

As well as this, season two promises guest appearances from model and actress Carmen Electra, Seinfeld’s Wayne Knight, A Different World’s Kadeem Hardison, and comedian Matt Rife.

However, though That ‘70s Show alumni Topher Grace, Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, and Wilmer Valderrama all made guest appearances in season one, there is no sign they will reprise their roles in the second season.

On her and Kutcher’s absence, Kunis explained to Entertainment Tonight “I mean, we did our thing and they introduced our son in the show and that was, you know, [enough]”.

Part two of That ‘90s Show promises more drama and comedy as it expands on tension from season one’s near kiss between Leia and Nate, and more inevitable mayhem from the gang.

On the new series, co-creator, executive producer and showrunner Gregg Metler told Tudum “We can’t wait to return to Point Place for another summer of laughs and surprises. Hello, 1996!”
