Are we getting excited for a whole new season of The Bear, you ask? Yes, chef!

It was recently announced that a third season of the critically acclaimed comedy drama will arrive on UK screens on Thursday, the 27th of June. Not only were we treated to a new update, but a teaser trailer was also released.

Created for FX by Christopher Storer, The Bear delves into the life of a young chef after he inherits an Italian beef sandwich shop following his brother’s suicide. Carmy Berzatto, played by Emmy-winner Jeremy Allen White, is still dealing with his own trauma and grief, all while taking on this family-owned Chicago business.

Thankfully, he isn’t alone. Included in the cast are Ayo Edibiri (Bottoms) who stars as the even younger, strong willed chef de cuisine, and later business partner, Sydney; soon-to-be Fantastic Four star Ebon Moss-Bachrach plays restaurant manager and family friend Richie, known more affectionately as ‘cousin’; and Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, Abby Elliot, and Matty Matheson make up the rest of the family/staff medley.

Along the way, viewers have also been treated to various guest stars. There are the flashbacks to Carmy and Natalie’s (Elliot) brother, Mikey, played by Jon Bernthal throughout season one. However, it isn’t until season two where we see more famous faces amongst family members. Jamie Lee Curtis (Halloween) plays the Berzatto matriarch, Donna; Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul) heats things up as Uncle Lee; meanwhile, Sarah Paulson and John Mulaney star as cousin Michelle and her partner, Stevie.

Fans, particularly those from across the pond, will also recognise Will Poulter as Luca, a top chef working in Copenhagen, who helps Marcus master his dessert skills. Although there isn’t too much information on the third season so far, it has been confirmed that Poulter will be making a return.

Aside from that small taste of what’s in store, Disney+ have left most to the imagination. We left Carmy trapped (literally) in a freezer, after damaging the relationships between both his girlfriend Claire (Molly Gordon) and Richie.

Thankfully, we don’t have long to wait before we greet this unorthodox, but lively family again. In the meantime, stay tuned for more updates from The Indiependent.

All episodes of The Bear season three will drop on Disney+ this June, or you can catch up and stream seasons one and two right now.
