The winners of the 2024 BAFTA Games Awards have been announced. Now in their 20th year, the awards celebrate achievement across all aspects of gaming in the past year. The show paid homage to their past ceremonies with an opening montage featuring past winners.
Taking the honours of hosting this year’s awards was writer and comedian Phil Wang, who recognised those affected by layoffs that have happened across the games industry in recent years.
The big winner of the night was Baldur’s Gate 3 with five wins. Along with being named Best Game, the Dungeons & Dragons adventure also won the EE Players’ Choice Award, Best Music, Best Narrative and Performance in a Supporting Role for Andrew Wincott for his performance as Raphael.
Other games with multiple wins were Alan Wake 2 (Artistic Achievement & Audio Achievement), Viewfinder (British Game & New Intellectual Property) and Super Mario Bros Wonder (Multiplayer & Family Game)
There were also awards for Venba (Debut Game), Cyberpunk 2077 (Evolving Game), Hi-Fi Rush (Animation) and Tchia, which won Game Beyond Entertainment. Nadji Jeter won the Performance in a Leading Role for his role in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 as Miles Morales.
