As fans of Suits would know, everyone’s favourite legal drama television series will soon be back on our screens. Well, sort of. It won’t be exactly Suits as we know it, but NBC has recently ordered a drama pilot for Suits L.A., a spinoff of the original show. Suits: L.A. will be set in the same universe as the successful NBC show but will instead take place at an entertainment law firm in — you guessed it — L.A.

In the last news regarding Suits: L.A., the show has added two new names to its cast: Stephen Amell and Bryan Greenberg. Amell might be a familiar face to many DC fans as you may have seen him as the billionaire Oliver Queen, and his alter ego Green Arrow, in The CW series, Arrow. In his newest project, however, audiences will see him as Ted Black; a former New York federal prosecutor who changed his life and career. In Los Angeles, Ted has built a new law firm and represents some of Los Angeles’ most prominent and powerful clients.

Bryan Greenberg, on the other hand, may be known to viewers for his role in the American drama One Tree Hill, where he starred as Jake Jagielski. Another notable role includes Ben in The Mindy Project. He joins Suits: L.A. as Rick Dodsen, Ted’s protégé in the entertainment division of Black Lane Law; Ted’s law firm that specialises in criminal and entertainment law. According to the initial synopsis of the show, Rick is heading for a promotion and is determined to stay ahead of his rival at work during a time of crisis for the firm.

The show is still in the early stages of production as we still don’t know much about the rest of the cast or the creative team behind it. However, it has been announced that the creator of Suits, Aaron Korsh, will serve as an executive producer on the series. With this and the exciting casting news, it looks like Suits: L.A. will make fans of the original show even more interested in its upcoming spin-off.
