Harlan Coben’s Netflix adaptations always reach top 10 programmes in the UK. Missing You, a thriller based on his 2014 novel of the same name, is the next in the works.

Described as a “heart pounding thriller about the ties we have to our past and the lies that bind us together” the premise focuses on Detective Kat Donovan as she reaches out to a man on a dating site, knowing nothing about him except his profile. With the plot already so mysterious, it’s the kind of story that makes great TV and it’s already being filmed in the UK.

Joining the cast is Slow Horses star Rosalind Eleazar, who will play the lead character, Kat Donovan. She’s donned roles in the past across BBC and ITV, becoming a recognisable face of drama across the channels. She starred in Rellick, which was a trending mini series on the BBC in 2017, and Deep Water on ITV alongside Anna Friel.

Her success on Apple TV’s Slow Horses had put her as a favourite to lead more like it, and one thing about Harlan Coben’s adaptations is that they always thrill. The most recent adaptation, Fool Me Once, garnered over 37million viewers in its first week, making it one of the streamer’s largest debuts.

Missing You will be produced by ITV backed Quay Street Productions, following from the recent hit Fool Me Once which became trending online and one of the most streamed shows on Netflix in 2023. Harlan Coben will serve as executive producer through his own company, Final Twist, which is US based, giving a hybrid UK-US feel to the adaptation of his show.

There is currently no release date set for the series, but stay updated with The Indiependent!
