Baldur’s Gate 3 Wins Big At Golden Joystick Awards

Baldur’s Gate 3 swept the board at this year’s Golden Joystick Awards, picking up a record-breaking seven trophies. Along with the awards for Best Storytelling and Best Visual Design, the Dungeons & Dragons RPG also won Best Game Community, PC Game of the Year, Best Studio for developers Larian Studios, and Best Supporting Performance for Neil Newbon as Astarion before capping off the night by winning Ultimate Game of the Year.

Hosted by Troy Baker, the awards celebrated the achievements and work of the gaming industry over the past year. Other winners included Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty which won Best Game Expansion and Best Game Trailer, Sea of Stars named Best Indie Game and Ben Starr being named Best Lead Performer for his role as Clive Rosfield in Final Fantasy XVI.

The awards also looked to the future and what players are looking forward to playing. Taking this year’s prize for Most Wanted Game was Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, the long-awaited continuation of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, which is set to be released on PlayStation 5 in February 2024.

  • Best Lead Performer – Ben Starr as Clive Rosfield, Final Fantasy XVI
  • Best Supporting Performer – Neil Newbon as Astarion, Baldur’s Gate 3
  • Nintendo Game of the Year – The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
  • PC Game of the Year – Baldur’s Gate 3
  • Xbox Game of the Year Starfield
  • PlayStation Game of the Year – Resident Evil 4
  • Most Wanted Game – Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
  • Ultimate Game of The Year Baldur’s Gate 3
