The official trailer for season three of the popular mystery series Only Murders in the Building has been released ahead of its debut next week.

The fan favourite comedy-drama series follows Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short) and Mabel (Selena Gomez). They are three true crime fanatics who form an unlikely friendship when they are embroiled in a murder that takes place in their luxury apartment building. Their shared love of true crime podcasts soon leads to them creating their own, aptly titled Only Murders in the Building, in an attempt to solve the grisly murder that has happened on their doorstep.

The podcast hosts are back in the centre of yet another murder mystery in the show’s third season. Season three marks the show’s return with a bang, boasting an all-star cast that includes Paul Rudd, Meryl Streep, Ashley Park and Jesse Williams. We were given a glimpse of the new story in the season two cliffhanger, when the star (Rudd) of Oliver’s Broadway comeback show is murdered. You can watch the season three trailer below.

Since its debut in 2021, Only Murders in the Building has received critical acclaim for its uniquely comedic approach to a murder mystery format. There has also notably been praise for the undeniable chemistry between Martin, Short and Gomez—the lovable trio none of us knew we needed.

The show has been known for its frankly epic guest stars that have included Tina Fey, Amy Schumer, Sting and Cara Delevingne. As a result, we really shouldn’t have been surprised when Selena Gomez revealed the iconic addition of Meryl Streep to the cast in a teasing post on her Instagram.

Even before the official release of the third season, Only Murders in the Building has already acquired a 100% critics rating on Rotten Tomatoes. If the jam-packed trailer is anything to go by, fans will not be disappointed when TV’s favourite amateur sleuths return to our screens.

Season three of Only Murders in the Building premieres on Disney+ on 8 August. The first two seasons are available to watch now on the streaming platform.
