The Edinburgh Fringe Society has shared details of the 2023 street events programme, which takes place throughout the city.

There will be family-friendly performances on the Royal Mile every day from 11am from professional street performers from around the world, including theatre, comedy, and circus skills. Over 500 buskers are set to perform at the festival, with magic, music, and sideshows, along with living statues set to line the streets. The traditional street acts draw will decide the performances that will take place each day, happening at 10am every morning. The list of those performing will be posed on Edinburgh Fringe’s website and shared across the official Fringe social media channels.

Following a successful launch at Edinburgh Fringe 2022, St James Quarter will join the street events programme again this year. They will be showcasing 33 busker performances during the festival, supported by Essential Edinburgh.

In order to make the Fringe more accessible, The Fringe Society have again partnered with Deaf Action. BSL interpreted street performances will take place on various days across the Fringe at the stage in West Parliament Square.

On the Mound Precinct, The Fringe Society will be running a bar in partnership with Belhaven Brewery, a new sponsor for the festival. A large circular pitch will be central to the space, which will allow performances across a range of artforms to be watched whilst patrons enjoy drinks from the bar. The Taster Stage will also run again this year, with opportunities for community groups to run over three days of the Fringe.
