With their most recent UK tour under their belt, FEET have blessed us with their latest single and first release of 2023, ‘Changing My Mind Again’. From their Coventry roots to rising indie pop status, the band exhibits an exuberant and mischievous persona that enriches their discography and this is no exemption in this latest single.
Previous FEET singles were slower indie-pop with impish descriptions of British culture. ‘Changing My Mind Again’ is far punchier and fast-paced, in contrast to other songs such as ‘Can’t Get In’ or ‘English Weather’.
‘Changing My Mind Again’ is a new twist for the band embracing a much bouncier character that evokes post-punk/rock style akin to The Clash and recent indie rock stars such as Wet Leg. Guitar riffs are far more emphasised, acting as the central framework of the overall composition supplemented with energetic lyrics for instance, “certainty turns a pale complexion / doubt hits like a flash”. An eccentric bravado proves strong within these lyrics, as FEET convey a self-aware aura, based on the song’s energised lyrics. This single is shorter than previous FEET singles, showing the energetic and erratic nature of the track.
FEET have created another strong single with its amalgamation of the band’s eccentricity, self-consciousness, and exciting range. By enhancing their style with a dose of experimentation, ‘Changing My Mind Again’ showcases confidence and joyful enthusiasm propelling the band in an exciting new direction.
‘Changing My Mind Again’ is now available on all streaming platforms.
