Apple TV+ has released a new trailer teaser trailer for Shrinking – a forthcoming comedy series starring Harrison Ford and Jason Segel. The show will premiere exclusively on Apple TV+ on January 27, 2023, with the first two episodes, followed by one new episode weekly, every Friday.

It centres on the story of a grieving therapist named Jimmy (Segel) who decides to break professional etiquette by telling his clients exactly what he thinks. Disregarding years of training and ethics, this radical decision results in massive changes in his client’s lives… and eventually his own.

The series will feature ten episodes in total and is written by Bill Lawrence, Brett Goldstein and Segel.

While the trailer doesn’t reveal much about the plot, it gives us a brief look at the cast as each of them is seen jumping on a trampoline to the sound of Kid Cudi’s “Pursuit of Happiness.” Amongst them are Christa Miller, Jessica Williams, Michael Urie, Luke Tennie, and Lukita Maxwell. The tagline features on the blue wall behind them and reads: “Sometimes you have to break down to have a breakthrough.”

The only star not to be seen jumping is Ford who appears at the end of the trailer, looking up at Segel who is standing on the trampoline.

Shrinking is the second collaboration between Apple TV+ and Segel, following his role in the Apple Original film, The Sky Is Everywhere, which debuted in February 2022.

The series also marks Harrison Ford’s first major TV debut. Fellow cast member Jessica Williams comments on what it was like to work alongside one of the most iconic names in the Hollywood industry: “Sometimes he’ll just have these really incredible magic takes, and he’s just amazing to watch.

He’s the guy, and he has a great sense of humour, and he rides his bike around and is just lovely and sweet, and he just really cares about doing a good job, and he’s kind. So I really like that,” she added.
