The cast for the UK’s tour of Irving Berlin’s White Christmas: The Musical has been announced.

Former member of The Wanted and Strictly star Jay McGuiness (Big The Musical; Rip It Up) will star in the role of Bob Wallace, while Lorna Luft (Promises, Promises; Snoopy!) will play Martha Watson.

Michael Starke (Waitress; Hairspray) will play General Waverly, Dan Burton (Gypsy; Jersey Boys) will play Phil Davis, Jessica Daley (An Officer and a Gentleman; The Sound of Music) will play Betty Haynes, and Monique Young (Gypsy; Mary Poppins) will play Judy Haynes.

Luft previously played the role of Martha in the 2016 US tour of the show. Burton, Daley and Young will also reprise their roles.

Based on Nikolai Foster’s original production, White Christmas follows two performers, who discover that a lodge they are performing at desperately needs help. It features songs such as ‘Blue Skies’, ‘I Love A Piano’ and ‘White Christmas’.

The show features music and lyrics by Irving Berlin and a book by David Ives and Paul Blake. Ian Talbot OBE will direct and Stephen Mear CBE is the choreographer.

Michael Taylor will do set design, while costume design is by Diego Pitarch, lighting design is by Mark Henderson and sound design is by Tom Marshall. Stephen Brooker is responsible for musical supervision and orchestrations are by Larry Blank.

White Christmas is presented by Concord Theatricals Ltd. on behalf of R&H Theatricals.

The shows opens on 12 November in Cornwall, before touring to Nottingham, Sunderland and Liverpool. Tickets can be purchased through individual venues.
