Hokko Life, the Animal Crossing-styled cosy community life sim, is leaping onto consoles and PC this fall. Get ready to step up your game and explore the welcoming realms of Hokko Life.
Hokko Life, the debut role-playing, life simulation game from the British-Swedish indie developers, Wonderscope Games and Team17, has confirmed its release for PC and console after spending just over a year in Steam Early Access. Previously only announced as a PC version, the community life sim vibes of Hokko Life will now arrive directly to your Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC next month on September 27. The physical editions of the game will also be available at the launch.
Hokko Life is an online life simulation game inspired by masters of their genre; such as Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon, and Stardew Valley. It offers an incredibly fascinating opportunity to construct your own world and explore virtual realms. Adorned with an exquisite pastel-hued scheme and anthropomorphic animal neighbours, its emphasis on in-game customization sets it apart from the competition and gives its players innovative freedom.
Get Ready to Live the Life of Your Dreams
Hokko Life invites players to customize and cultivate their very own cosy community, enjoy mini-games, chat with friendly villagers, and use the most intricate of design tools, as it all comes together to create a charming environment for players to put their stamp on. As a chill, jovial life sim, the player can frolic through the world and create their character’s appearance as they please. The story opens with a mini time-lapse as the character falls asleep on a train and wakes up in a mysterious town filled with animal residents. From there on, they’ll help build, maintain, and improve the town, build a home, and have plenty of adventures.
Hokko Life has been available on Windows PC through Steam Early Access since June 2021. The primary characteristics of the game combine as its main selling points and make it worthwhile to play:
- Get Creative: The workshop awaits as players take control over every aspect of Hokko. With the 3D design tool, you can tailor every aspect of a player’s creation to absolute perfection and customize it however they please.
- Dare to Design: No detail is insignificant. Everything from the colour, fabric, and angle of the pillow on a chair is editable. This is one of the coolest, most engaging, and undoubtedly enjoyable features to experiment with.
- Sharing is caring: Players can communicate and share their meticulously crafted designs with friends and other random players around the world, which triples the overall happiness.
- Back of the Net: With a net or pole in hand, one can pass a leisurely afternoon in Hokko, catching and gathering the critters and vermin crawling around the city. Sounds exciting for a weekend activity in that world.
- Meet the Neighbors: Regardless of whether you know your next-door neighbour in real life, folks in Hokko town are delightfully warm, welcoming, and accommodating. They may have varying personalities and attitudes, but they all make fantastic friends.
A Menagerie of New Friends
The players will meet characters such as an elephant named Ōma, a giraffe named Moss, Sally, and a pig named Rosa the Realtor, among many others. Through the game’s workshop, players have the freedom to change and rearrange their furniture as they choose. They can also share their creations with other players all over the world.
Throughout its time in Steam Early Access, Hokko Life regularly delivered exciting and spectacular updates and expanded its content with new gameplay features.
- The Farming Update: Added a new area to the game and allowed players to flex their green fingers.
- The Village Chic Update: Introduced over 250 new hats, masks, glasses, and other accessories.
- The Super Shopper Update: Enabled players to visit a new city centre location.
- The Narrative Update: Overhauled the introduction of the game and introduced four new friendly villagers to Hokko Life.
- The Mayor Merits Update: Enabled players to complete activities in the game for “mayor merits” that unlock perks designed to make life in Hokko a little easier.
