A remake of The Last of Us for PlayStation 5 has leaked ahead of the official announcement.

Now called The Last of Us Part 1, the game showed up on the PlayStation Direct site today (June 9) but was quickly removed. However, several fans, including ResetEra user modiz, saw the posting and shared details online. The listing also confirmed the game’s release date of September 2, 2022. The game will be released in both Standard and Firefly Editions, with the Left Behind DLC also included with the game.

The Last of Us Part 1 follows Joel, a survivor in post-apocalyptic Boston who is tasked with getting a young girl named Ellie to a group called the Fireflies as she may hold the key to stopping the spread of the Cordyceps virus which has taken hold. The game was originally released on PlayStation 3 in 2014 and a TV adaptation starring Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie is currently in production for HBO.

The trailer, which is still available for viewing at the time of writing, ends with the confirmation that a PC version of the game is currently in development, although no release date was confirmed. This would mark another PlayStation exclusive heading to PC, following the announcement that Marvel’s Spider-Man would be releasing on PC on August 12, 2022.

The Last of Us Part 1 will be available on PlayStation 5 on September 2, 2022, and is currently in development for a future PC release.
