The winners for the 39th Golden Joystick Awards have been announced.
Hosted by Emily Rose and Nolan North, the awards celebrate gaming achievement and are voted for by fans. This year, two additional categories were added to celebrate 50 Years of Gaming – Ultimate Game of All Time and Best Gaming Hardware of All Time.
The show opened with a specially crafted medley of music spanning 50 years of video games performed by the Golden Joystick Awards Collective. Featuring more than 20 musicians and singers, the medley includes iconic music from the likes of Super Mario Bros., Street Fighter, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Pac-Man, Halo, and The Last of Us.
Taking the coveted Ultimate Game of the Year award was Resident Evil Village, which also won Best Audio, PlayStation Game of the Year and Best Performer for Lady Dimitrescu actress Maggie Robertson. Other winners of the night included Elden Ring winning Most Wanted Game and Death’s Door being named Best Indie Game, while Capcom was named Studio of the Year.
