VICTORS immerse you in their dream-pop world with new single ‘I Could Be Your World’.

Coming from Leeds, three-piece VICTORS have effortlessly created their own brand of feel-good indie dream-pop sound that has gained them a loyal fanbase not only here but also in the stateside. When listening to ‘I Could Be Your World’ it’s only too clear to see why they’ve earned so much attention.

It’s clear that the band has taken some inspiration from Pale Waves and made their own sound. Whilst both use synthesizers very heavily, VICTOR’s use of the guitar is clearer and helps drive the song, feeling almost as heavy as the synthesizers and just as prominent. It’s what can be expected from an award-winning producer such as Joe LaPorta, who has worked with the likes of David Bowie, The Weeknd, and Kings of Leon.

‘I Could Be Your World’ is an optimistic track, giving the listener the feeling of being on top of the world: it’s as if everything is perfect in this song. This is clear in the lyrics ‘Is this a dream? We’re all we need…’ This could be seen as a homage to ‘Just Like Heaven’ by The Cure where Robert Smith sings ‘You’re just like a dream,’ whilst ‘You’re all I need’ communicates how you can be completely content as long as you find the person right for you.

When talking about the single, VICTORS said “We see ICBYW as a classic ‘VICTORS’ track. We wanted a nod to our older stuff for our earliest, loyalist fans. It’s about the early phases of a romantic relationship, where all that matters in the world is each other, the obsession and the belief that your love is unique and special and that nothing could ever bring it to an end.”

This latest release is the sound of a band that is ready to break into the mainstream, and when writing songs like this, it’s hard to believe VICTORS aren’t already there. Listen to the new single on Spotify here, or watch the music video on YouTube here.
