The full West End cast for the returning Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat has been announced.

Alexandra Burke, who won the 2008 series of The X Factor, will play The Narrator. Jac Yarrow will reprise the title role as Joseph after his 2019 performance, which saw him pick up an Olivier award nomination last year. Jason Donovan and Linzi Hateley, who both starred in the 1991 production, will also return.

Directed by Laurence Connor, the production will officially open on 15 July at the London Palladium and will run until 5 September.

Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical is based on the biblical story of Joseph and his coat of many colours.

Burke established herself in the West End by tackling roles like Rachel Marron in The Bodyguard in 2014 and Deloris van Cartier in Sister Act in 2016. As a solo music artist, she has sold five million records in the UK.

The Olivier-nominated and former Neighbours star Donovan, who played Joseph in the 1990s and topped the charts with ‘Any Dream Will Do’, returns as the Pharaoh while Hateley will play The Narrator in select performances. Other songs featured in the musical include ‘Jacob and Sons’ and ‘Go Go Go Joseph.’

The revival will also include Steffan Lloyd Evans as Reuben and Bobby Windebank as Simeon. Other cast members include Femi Akinfolarin and Gemma Buckingham. Tickets are available online.
