If you’re yet to meet the majestic wonders that are Wolf Alice, then slap on their debut My Love Is Cool and prepare to emerge adorned with glitter—we promise you won’t regret it. With the impending release of their third album Blue Weekend, Wolf Alice have been releasing a string of sonic teasers, and their latest glistening earworm is finally here.

‘No Hard Feelings’ is a delicate and heartfelt ballad that rings reminiscent of ‘Blush’ and acts as a beautiful accompaniment to the first release from the upcoming album, ‘The Last Man On Earth’.

“Life can be short but life can be sweet/No hard feelings, honey, the next time we meet,” speaks on the heartache of lost loves, but picking yourself back up and amicably parting ways—rather than harbouring ill feelings. Ellie’s tender vocals and sweet inflections perfectly pair with the angelic choral harmonies that make an appearance halfway through the track.

Speaking on the new cut, Ellie explained, “I tried to make it longer, but I didn’t have any more words—I had said everything I wanted to say perfectly, and didn’t want to ruin it with more. So instead we slowed it down, and I felt way more moved by it like that.”

Wholly moving and delicately illustrious, ‘No Hard Feelings’ is full of complex and emotive lyricism, and if it’s anything to go by, the rest of the album is set to be the band’s next big sonic feat.

Blue Weekend is set for release 4 June 2021.
