Six the Musical

The Olivier-nominated Six the Musical has announced plans to restart touring across the UK, reopening at the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury on 8 June this year.

The musical transforms the six wives of Henry VIII into pop princesses who each take to the mic to tell their sides of the story in a concert style performance.

Written by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, Six the Musical will travel across the country on a nine-moth Royal Tour, taking it into 2022 and visiting theatres across the UK. Leeds, Brighton, and Glasgow are among the other stops on the upcoming tour.

Premiering at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2017, the musical has gone on to sell out shows across the globe. In 2019, the show was nominated for five Olivier award, including best new musical and best choreography.

The UK tour was postponed following the government’s announcement of a national lockdown. An opening night on Broadway also had to be postponed.

Producer Kenny Wax told WhatsOnStage that “we are delighted to be reopening Six at The Marlowe Theatre with which we have a very close affinity.

“What more could we want for an opening venue as we attempt to kickstart the industry back into life and to bring the joy of Six back to the regions.”

Casting details are yet to be announced.

Tickets for all dates are available now from the musical’s website.
