The Kids Are Alright

Slam Dunk has always done well to balance old favourites with the best up and coming acts and this time around, the emphasis on young talent feels greater. We are currently enjoying a period of thriving new talent in both the UK and across the water in our pop punk and hardcore scenes but, more so, festivals seem to be more open minded about rewarding that talent on the bigger stage (see previous section about Neck Deep).

The list seems almost endless for this year’s festival but the early part of the day can now be spent in the company of Vukovi, Decade, Puppy, Sorority Noise, WSTR, Trophy Eyes and Shvpes. If that wasn’t enough, the line-up is littered with relative novices like Beartooth, Seaway, Waterparks and Frank Iero and The Patience who all have just the odd album to their name.
