Piece Of The Pie // Globelamp
Ex-Foxygen singer Elizabeth le Fey now going under the monika Globelamp, has unveiled her long-awaited debut solo album The Orange Glow. Le Fey’s solo effort is expertly executed, mind soothing chiller-folk on the whole. That said, there’s one particular track that stands out from the crowd and that’s intense, grittier number ‘Piece Of The Pie’. The track in question is fuzzy, distorted and downright filthy.
It’s a real injection of energy in an otherwise alt-folk voyage. The soothing vocal honey Le Fey boasts isn’t overpowered, mind, it’s merely had new life injected into it by the distortion-filled buzz that the track clings to throughout until its gentle closing passage.
‘Piece Of The Pie’ features on Globelamp’s debut LP The Orange Glow out now on Psychedelic Thriftstore Recordings.
