Paleontologist // Shunkan
Shunkan are beautifully fresh. That fresh that your ears do a little jig when the light riffage flicks around within them. They’re a five-piece from New Zealand, led by L.A based singer Marina Sakimoto, who is staggeringly only 22. Extracting the noise from their early work, they’ve uncovered a delicate instrumental hum.
The song is an extended relationship metaphor for its title. I for one can’t wait till there’s more songs to dig up from a band with an undoubted amount of potential.
Shunkan‘s debut album, The Pink Noise, drops November 20th via Art is Hard Records.
