Anyone who’s been lucky enough to catch superbly talented 16 year-old Declan McKenna open up for Blossoms on their current UK jaunt, would’ve been treated to his superb debut release ‘Brazil’. Written about the darker side to football, homing in on the recent corruption of FIFA, the track merges a touchy subject with lively, fun rhythms.
Having already secured Radio 1 airplay as well as winning Glastonbury’s emerging talent competition, McKenna is clearly going places and this tune is an elegant demonstration of what this young multi-instrumentalist can produce. You’ll listen more than once. I’m telling you, you just will.
