Set high above the picturesque town and warm beaches of Bilbao on the Kobetamendi Hill, Bilbao BBK Live is set to be one of Europe’s leading indie and rock festivals this summer. Having already announced that their line-up would include the likes of indie legends Arcade Fire and old-schoolers the Pixies, they continue to be able to boast one of the strongest rosters of 2016, with the announcement of a host of new acts, and even a brand new area of the festival to tantalise festival-goers worldwide.
With previous years’ events already playing host to some of the biggest names in music, with Coldplay, Muse and Guns ‘n’ Roses among the headliners of years gone by, BBK has continued its impressive form in capturing Arcade Fire for one of two planned shows in Europe. The Montreal collective is set to play a career-spanning headline slot on the opening day, with notable supporting sets from Years & Years, M83 and Chvrches to sweeten the deal for anyone not already enticed.
Boston natives the Pixies headline the second second day with a set that is sure to live long in the memory of the band’s faithful following of die-hard supporters, before proceedings are brought to a close with a bang as Foals take to the stage, supported by a line up including Father John Misty, Wolf Alice, Tame Impala and Editors that makes for impressive reading indeed.
There’s also room for the tastes of the more electronically-minded, who are kept in safe hands with the new, dedicated area of Basoa, which will see some of the world’s biggest DJs make their mark on its maiden outing.
If sun, sea, and some of the world’s biggest musical talents sounds like it might be interesting, then the full line-up and more information can be found below.
And if you’re already convinced, then tickets are available from £93
