After 2015’s event established itself as one of the UK’s leading festivals, Citadel returns in 2016 with the freshly announced Caribou and Lianne La Havas joining headliners Sigur Rós, who will be making a London exclusive appearance.
The one-day boutique festival seeks to outdo last year’s event, which saw the likes of Ben Howard, Bombay Bicycle Club and Nick Mulvey gracing one of London’s most beautiful parks.
This year’s festival finds itself brimming with a whole host of exciting acts, ranging from the US indie-rocker Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats to Cat’s Eyes, which is the side project of The Horror’s frontman Faris Badwan. Also joining them will be Calexico, Submotion Orchestra, Maribou State, Matthew & The Atlas and Billie Marten; alongside many others.
2016’s event also finds itself welcoming back London based promoter and label Communion, who once again will programme their respective stage. They’ll also be joined by London clubbing institution Fabric, who’ll be branching out to a festival field for the first time and will be providing a mixture of genre-bending sounds throughout the day.
If the music on offer isn’t enough, there’s also a whole host of activities in which to submerge yourself in. These vary from the Sunday Sports Day, which is the perfect place to unleash your inner competitive side, to the Rock n Roller Skate that shouldn’t be missed.
Taking into account everything on offer, this is destined to be one of the highlights of this summer’s festivals.
Citadel Festival 2016 will take place in London’s Victoria Park on Sunday 17 July. A full list of acts can be found below.
Tickets are priced at £49.50 + booking fees, and are available from Ticketmaster.
