Trent Reznor is another one of Grohl’s close friends, of whom he recently collaborated with in his documentary on the famed Sound City Studios back in 2011.
Back in 2005, Grohl contributed to Nine Inch Nails album With Teeth, performing drums on five tracks and percussion on one track of the record. Grohl’s contribution to this record shows how versatile he is as a musician, as Nine Inch Nails are known for their heavy use of computers and drum machines. Even through the heavy industrial and computerized rock, you can still feel Grohl’s spirit through these tracks; especially through the ‘Everyday is Exactly the Same’ and ‘Sunspots’.
