4. Fire in the Sky (1993)
After Robert Patrick became immortalized in cinematic history as the T-1000, he starred in the science fiction biopic Fire in the Sky. Directed by Robert Lieberman, Fire in the Sky tells the true story of an extraterrestrial encounter through Travis Walton.
The Walton case occurred on November 5, 1975 in which Walton was allegedly abducted by a UFO and could not be found until five days later after he reappeared. The case gained excessive mainstream publicity and has become known as one of the best cases of alien abduction.
The case may have become one of the most well known UFO stories, but the film also became recognized as having the most well-executed alien abduction scenes on film.
Once Duchovny left the series after the seventh season, a role needed to be created to fill the void which came to fruition through the character of John Doggett. Carter was so impressed by Patrick’s performance in Fire in the Sky, it lead to him casting Patrick in the role of Doggett for the last two seasons of the show.
