110 Above is an independently ran festival in rural Leicestershire, and acts on the line-ups each year are typically within the alternative rock genre, although some bands in this year’s line-up could be described as grunge and post punk too. Known for its chilled environment, it is ideal for people who are keen to discover new up and coming names – a lot of the fantastic additions to this year’s festival are bands who have built up a recognition at festivals, or are pretty much unknowns. Although the whole of the line-up is impressive, here are ten sets I’d recommend going to this year.

Slowlights

The four piece band have a gorgeous chilled indie rock vibe to them, and so far have a handful of tracks out including ‘So Far’, ‘Take What I Can Get’, and ‘I Try So Hard’. The Hyve, who have a great eye for spotting outstanding new alternative music, recently held a live evening in London and they selected the group as one of performers, indicating how much potential and talent they have! Lewis Watson, himself a laidback mellow singer-songwriter, also enlisted Slowlights as his support act for his spring tour.
